I am a versatile and experienced game designer with extensive knowledge of social and free-to-play game mechanics. I am passionate, creative and have worked on a number of games projects, most recently as the lead designer on the ambitious Music Festivals game on Facebook.

My key skills include the ability to work well within a team while I am also comfortable working individually. I work well under pressure if needed and aspire to perform to the best of my ability in every situation.

I have experience of working for both a large development studio and a small independent studio, during which time I have learnt many new skills and improved upon my existing ones. I have a good understanding of game balance, pacing, and UI/UX design and am able to produce documentation to a high standard. I am familiar with both the games design process and various aspects of bug finding, tracking and recording. I am also familiar with agile development methods.

Games Industry Experience

January 2011 – Date

Social Games Designer for Soshi Games

Working as Lead Games Designer for Music Festivals. This position involves creating the core design of the project, maintaining design documentation, balancing gameplay, creating game features and liaising with all departments to ensure the game meets its design principles.

May 2010 – August 2010

QA Tester for Realtime Worlds

Working in Quality Assurance for APB (All Points Bulletin). Due to the many facets of this MMO, a variety of testing skills were utilised when examining potential issues regarding exploits, graphics, usability, billing and accounts, web testing, localisation, gameplay balance and various other areas of the game.

This position also allowed me to do a small amount of testing on Project: MyWorld, finding and documenting issues for a very early build of the game.

August 2008 – December 2008

Games Designer for Future Publishing/My Favourite Magazines

Temporary contract to produce a Christmas advergame for using Flash Actionscript 2.0. In the creation of this game, I worked closely with the client and external designer to ensure that the shared vision was achieved to a high standard and on time.
